Terms and Conditions

Timetable changes                                   
All classes are subject to change. While Young Engineers Melbourne South Pty Ltd uses its best efforts to operate classes as per the timetable published on this website, in some instances changes are required due to fluctuations in demand. No guarantee is made that classes will run per the timetable. Any changes required will be communicated to those affected prior to the date classes commence.


Cancellation policy
By enrolling in our classes, you are committing to a service contract for a complete term. We do not offer refunds if there is an issue with the service that is outside of our control. i.e – a change of mind. We offer a three class paid trial period to ensure that our customers are satisfied with our program prior to enrolling for full term. Therefore, no refunds are available.


Make-up class policy
If your child is unable to attend a class, a make-up class may be available. We cannot guarantee there will be availability in all classes. A maximum of two (2) make-up classes per term are available. Make-up classes can be carried over to the next term (up to 1 term) and credit may be available for classes missed. Make up classes must be requested in writing.


Fee payment.

We offer full term and trial payment options. Full term fees are paid fully upfront. Trial fees are paid for 3 classes – as part payment for the term. If you wish to continue, balance fees need to be paid immediately at the end of the trial period, before the next class commences. We need to be informed in writing if your child is dropping out of the program at any time.

Medical Emergency

In case of an emergency in the class, the priority of the Young Engineers Melbourne South Pty Ltd teachers is to ensure the safety of the student experiencing the emergency as well as of other students and teachers present in the activity. In case of any life threatening incidents, an ambulance will be called first and the parent of the child will be called next. Young Engineers Melbourne South Pty Ltd staff WILL NOT accompany the child in the ambulance. In case of non-life threatening emergencies, the parent will be informed. We WILL NOT provide any first aid or medical treatment until the parent arrives.

It is important to note that Young Engineers Melbourne South Pty Ltd staff do not have the medical training required to handle serious medical emergencies associated with conditions like asthma and anaphylaxis. Nor do they have the training required to educate children with significant special needs. In case of an emergency situation related to the above, Young Engineers Melbourne South Pty Ltd staff will contact 000 and follow any instructions over the phone until the ambulance arrives. If your child has serious medical conditions or significant special needs, we request that you arrange for a support person to attend the class with your child.

Failure to arrange for a support person indicates that you are choosing to send your child to the class at your own risk. By accepting these terms and conditions you hereby release and forever discharge Young Engineers from any and all liability, loss and damage (including direct, indirect and consequential) or any other claim related to the management of medical emergency incident of your child.

Photography
From time to time your child may be photographed or video’d whilst undertaking a Young Engineers Melbourne South Pty Ltd class. Parent consent is required for photography purposes. Photographs taken are primarily used for the purpose of sharing a digital, weekly newsletter with all parents whose children attend the program. Such media might also be used for promotional purposes, including but not limited to reproduction on the Young Engineers Melbourne South Pty Ltd social media platform. By enrolling in the Young Engineers Melbourne South Pty Ltd program you agree to such use by Young Engineers Melbourne South Pty Ltd. Parents are not to take videos or photographs that include other children in the class without the permission of that parent/guardian.

Please note: Given the nature of the class format and the fact that children work together in close proximity of each other – your child may be photographed inadvertently in our classes despite you not consenting to this. If this situation were to occur, it would be your sole responsibility as a parent to identify the photos of your child and request us in writing to remove those photographs from our online platforms. We will endeavour to take down the photos as soon as practicable (within 30 days)

By accepting these terms and conditions you hereby release and forever discharge Young Engineers from any and all liability, loss and damage (including direct, indirect and consequential) or any other claim related to the management of photographs taken by us of your child in our classes.

Illness Policy:

We advise members that they should NOT ATTEND Young Engineers Melbourne South Pty Ltd classes if they:

  • have a confirmed case of COVID-19. You cannot attend Young Engineers Melbourne South Pty Ltd classes until you are medically cleared to return.
  • have close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19. You cannot attend Young Engineers Melbourne South Pty Ltd classes for 14 days since last contact with the confirmed case.
  • are unwell or have flu like symptoms including a cough, high temperature, running nose or sore throat. If you or your child present with any of these symptoms, you will be asked to leave the class and we will offer you an extra make-up class for the missed session.

Staff will stay at home and self-isolate for 14 days if they are unwell or have any flu-like symptoms or if they have been in close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19.

Student behaviour

  • Young Engineers Melbourne South Pty Ltd reserves the right to refuse admission to any person that presents a disciplinary problem to staff or a threat to the safety and well being of other children.
  • Unacceptable language or bullying will under no circumstances be tolerated and will result in the child being removed from the class.
  • Young Engineers Melbourne South Pty Ltd expects appropriate and positive behaviour from its students at all times. When these expectations are not met Young Engineers Melbourne South Pty Ltd staff will discuss behaviour issues with the parent/ guardian. If inappropriate behaviour continues and poses threat, harm or continued disruption to others, the student will be asked to leave the programme.

Declaration:

Parents agree that by enrolling in our program they are allowing their children to participate at their own risk. By accepting our terms and conditions and proceeding with enrolment you declare that:

  • I release and forever discharge Young Engineers Melbourne South Pty Ltd from all claims that I may have or may have had arisen from, or in connection with, my child and a Young Engineers Melbourne South Pty Ltd program; and
  • I Indemnify, will keep indemnified and hold harmless Young Engineers Melbourne South Pty Ltd, to the extent permitted by law in respect of any claim as a result of or in connection with a Young Engineers Melbourne South Pty Ltd program.
  • I warrant that my child has not at any time suffered blackout, seizure, convulsion, fainting, dizzy spells or any other medical condition and is not presently receiving treatment for any illness, disorder or injury which would render it unsafe for my child to take part in a Young Engineers Melbourne South Pty Ltd program.
  • I acknowledge that Young Engineers Melbourne South Pty Ltd teachers are not trained in the management of asthma and anaphylaxis and if my child has these conditions, I am sending them to attend the class at my own risk.
  • I release and forever discharge Young Engineers from any and all liability, loss and damage (including direct, indirect and consequential) or any other claim related to the management of medical emergency incidents of my child.
  • I acknowledge that Young Engineers Melbourne South Pty Ltd uses its best endeavours to ensure that the equipment and facilities used in the program are safe and fit for purpose. I have voluntarily read and accept the inherent associated risks.
  • I acknowledge that given the nature of the program format and the fact that children work together in close proximity to each other – my child may be photographed inadvertently by Young Engineers Melbourne South Pty Ltd despite my not consenting to this. If this situation were to occur, it would be my sole responsibility as a parent to identify the photos of my child and request Young Engineers Melbourne South Pty Ltd in writing to remove those photographs from their online platforms.
  • I release and forever discharge Young Engineers Melbourne South Pty Ltd from any and all liability, loss and damage (including direct, indirect and consequential) or any other claim related to the management of photographs taken of my child by them.
  • I have read and I consent for my child to participate in a Young Engineers Melbourne South Pty Ltd program and understand the risk involved and further agree to be bound by the Young Engineers Melbourne South Pty Ltd Code of Conduct and operating rules.

    ” Young Engineers Melbourne South Pty Ltd” means all directors personally and in their capacity as a director, partners of directors, agents, and any representatives of Young Engineers Melbourne South Pty Ltd. ” Young Engineers Melbourne South Pty Ltd Program” include all programs and activities that you or your child participate in during our courses and classes. This includes but is not limited to any clubs, facilities and activities provided by Young Engineers Melbourne South Pty Ltd
